PANGAEA: a data repository with DOIs
The repository PANGAEA, operated by AWI and MARUM, is an open access library for georeferenced data (read hdl:10013/epic.21446 ). Each dataset in PANGAEA can be identified and cited by using a Digital Object Identifier. See example: doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.107850
Data analysis and visualization tools developed by AWI staff which support PANGAEA format are Ocean Data View, Ocean Sneakers Tool, and PANGAEA software suite. Additional information can be found directly in PANGAEA site and/or in AWI infrastructure site.
ESSD: a data publishing journal
More recently, AWI has co-founded the data publishing journal "Earth system Science Data" (ESSD) which is an international.interdisciplinary journal for the publication of peer-reviewed articles on original research data published by Copernicus Publications.
